We offer personalized care for every client! Additionally, our staff members are available 365 days a year, we limit group sizes, offer built-in transportation, and maintain strong relationships with both pets and their owners.
Our reinforcement-based approach is designed to strengthen your dog's skills and build confidence by working on calm greetings, loose leash walking, and increasing "The Three D's": Distance, Duration and Distraction for all your dog's commands. Only the best for your best friend!
We currently serve Needham, Newton, Wellesley, Chestnut Hill, Brookline, Dedham, and Westwood. If you’re just outside our service area, reach out, we may still be able to accommodate you!
Our main service hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with standard walks and visits scheduled during this time. Services requested outside of these hours are subject to an After-Hours Fee and are not guaranteed based on staff availability.
For our Senior Living Community clients, services are available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM to ensure their pets receive timely care.
We also offer Overnight services, providing care and companionship well beyond regular business hours to ensure your pets are safe, comfortable, and cared for around the clock.
We provide solo and group walks, daycare, overnights (boarding or in-home), group hikes, training, and grooming (The Newbury of Brookline only).

After the Meet & Greet Consultation is completed, you can request services, view your pet's schedule, and stay in touch with our team through the Time to Pet app!
Submitting a service request in Time to Pet does not automatically confirm your booking. Once your request has been reviewed and scheduled, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Time to Pet. You can also view your confirmed service directly through the Time to Pet app!
Yes, Jake’s Dog Walking and Pet Care is fully insured and bonded for your peace of mind. Your pet’s safety and security are always our top priority.
While dogs are our specialty, we also provide care for cats and other small pets upon request. Every service is tailored to your pet’s unique needs and comfort level!
All dogs must be current on core vaccinations and complete a Meet & Greet Consultation before their first service.
For the safety of all pets in our care, we require up-to-date Rabies, Distemper (DHPP/DA2PP), and Bordetella vaccinations. Proof of vaccination must be provided prior to your pet’s first service.
Yes. For safety, rest, and structure, all dogs must be comfortable resting in a crate during daycare, boarding, or in-home care. However, dogs do not need to be crated for in-home care services.
Dogs who are not crate-trained may be accepted on a case-by-case basis with an additional fee. Please mention this during your Meet & Greet so we can determine the best setup for your pup.
Yes. A 15% last-minute booking fee applies to any service scheduled with short notice.
This includes:
Drop-in visits, walks, and daycare booked within 1 business day of the requested service.
Overnight services not booked at least 2 weeks in advance.
We encourage booking early to ensure availability and avoid last-minute fees!
Yes. A $25/day cleaning fee will be charged if a dog has accidents indoors that require extra cleanup or sanitization.
If a dog becomes sick or shows symptoms of illness, an extra care rate will be applied. Additional sanitization fees may also be charged to ensure the health and safety of all pets in our care.
Please note that pricing may vary based on factors such as your dog’s age, health, potty training, temperament, overall training, and behavior.
For the privacy and safety of our team members, we do not share personal addresses or contact information. All communication and coordination take place through Time To Pet to ensure a smooth and secure experience for everyone.

We understand that plans change! Please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the scheduled service. Cancellations or reschedules made within 24 hours of the scheduled service will incur a fee.
We use the Time to Pet app for all client communication. You’ll receive real-time updates, photos, and visit reports after every service, so you always know how your pet’s day went.
Absolutely! Many of our clients schedule regular weekly walks, group hikes or daycare. We also offer priority scheduling for recurring clients to guarantee consistency and availability.
