We offer personalized care for every client! Additionally, our staff members are available 365 days a year, we limit group sizes, offer built-in transportation, and maintain strong relationships with both pets and their owners.
Our reinforcement-based approach is designed to strengthen your dog's skills and build confidence by working on calm greetings, loose leash walking, and increasing "The Three D's": Distance, Duration and Distraction for all your dog's commands. Only the best for your best friend!
We currently serve Needham, Newton, Wellesley, Chestnut Hill, Brookline, Dedham, and Westwood. If you’re just outside our service area, reach out, we may still be able to accommodate you!
Our main service hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with standard walks and visits scheduled during this time. Services requested outside of these hours are subject to an After-Hours Fee and are not guaranteed based on staff availability.
For our Senior Living Community clients, services are available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM to ensure their pets receive timely care.
We also offer Overnight services, providing care and companionship well beyond regular business hours to ensure your pets are safe, comfortable, and cared for around the clock.
We provide solo and group walks, daycare, overnights (boarding or in-home), group hikes, training, and grooming (The Newbury of Brookline only).

Yes, Jake’s Dog Walking and Pet Care is fully insured and bonded for your peace of mind. Your pet’s safety and security are always our top priority.
While dogs are our specialty, we also provide care for cats and other small pets upon request. Every service is tailored to your pet’s unique needs and comfort level!
We use the Time to Pet app for all client communication. You’ll receive real-time updates, photos, and visit reports after every service, so you always know how your pet’s day went.
Safety is our top priority. Every member of the Jake’s Dog Walking team completes an extensive training and onboarding process that covers dog behavior, safe handling techniques, emergency procedures, and client communication. We also emphasize situational awareness and proactive decision-making to keep pets safe and happy on every walk or visit.
All team members must pass a comprehensive background screening before hire, including a national criminal background check and a motor vehicle records check. We verify identity, driving history, and prior work experience to ensure each candidate meets our strict standards.

Our team is made up of experienced, responsible animal lovers who have proven themselves in professional dog care, training, or related fields. Every applicant is carefully vetted for reliability, professionalism, and genuine compassion for animals.
All staff undergo a structured training program before working independently. This includes:
Hands-on shadowing with senior team members
Dog behavior and body language education
Safe leash handling and group management techniques
Pet first aid and emergency protocols
Client communication and professionalism standards
We also provide ongoing education and mentorship to ensure every walker continues to grow and uphold our safety and service values.
